Canes Bar & Grill overlooking the ocean in San Diego, was the setting for this great show. Performing that night were “Hard Fall Hearts“, “Supersuckers” and a very, very special performance by none other than “Lee Rocker” of the Stray Cats.

Kicking off the night were the Hard Fall Hearts who brought a rockin mix of punk, rockabilly and psychobilly to the table. They definitely got the crowd rockin and rollin. Be sure to check them out if you ever get the chance. Up next was a very special and energetic performance by Lee Rocker slapping that bass and he was backed by his group of very talented musicians, that included Buzz Campbell of Hot Rod Lincoln fame on guitar. A good set featuring classics from the Stray Cats and his original songs as well. Ending the night were the Supersuckers and their brand of good ol’ fashioned rock and roll mixed with some punk and a little bit of country rock sprinkled in.

If there was any downside to this show, it was that Lee Rocker’s set was so short. Who knows why? Still, his set alone was worth the price of admission in my opinion. All in all, a great show at a very nice venue. If you are ever in the San Diego CA area, be sure to stop by Canes Bar & Grill and enjoy the atmosphere.

  1. Hey there,

Thanks guys for the great review and pics. That show was a blast and you’re right…it was too short. That was the set time we were given and out of respect for the great headliners, “Supersuckers”…we did just that. They were great that night….really enjoyed their set and stayed till the last tune.

Lee is really giving the fans what they want these days. Lots of Stray Cats hits along with some roots stuff done at a low volume…and of course…some of his own great originals.

We’re doing a lot of cool places so please come out and see us…we need your support!
